Senior Associate Attorney Georgeann Nicol joined my law office in October of 2001. Georgeann was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 1984. Georgeann is a graduate of UCLA and has 25 years of experience handling entertainment, discrimination, personal injury and bankruptcy matters. Georgeann works primarily on Chapter 7s and Adversary Proceedings. Georgeann has helped clients to discharge tens of millions of dollars in debts and has won numerous Motions to Dismiss Adversary Proceedings, as well as successfully settling and trying Adversary Proceeding Cases. She recently won a complete defense verdict in a case in which the Plaintiff demanded $330,000.00 to settle and our client offered $100,000.00 to settle. Georgeann is an award winning dancer. Georgeann is an experienced Marathon runner, cyclist, swimmer, and Ironman Triathlete. Georgeann has successfully completed the Aids Ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles ten times, and raised tens of thousands of dollars to fight AIDS in the process.

Attorney Sofya Davtyan joined my law firm in February of 2009. Sofya heads up our Chapter 13 department. Sofya has successfully confirmed more than 100 Chapter 13 plans and won numerous lien stripping motions and Adversary Proceedings for our clients. Sofya was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 2, 2008. Sofya graduated from USC in 2002 with a major in Political Science and a minor in Law and Society. She received her J.D. with honors from Ventura College of Law. While in law school, Sofya interned at the Van Nuys District Attorney's Office, working on murder and sexual assault cases. Prior to joining my law firm, Sofya worked at Donahoe & Young, preparing bankruptcy petitions and handling probate matters. She is fluent in Russian and Armenian. Attorney Minha Rhee joined my office in July of 2010. Minha works on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases in my office. She has already represented clients at more than 100 meetings of creditors and prepared dozens of bankruptcy petitions. Minha was admitted to the State Bar of California in June 2010. Minha graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s of Architecture Degree in 1998 and received her law degree from Southwestern University in 2009. Minha is a strong believer in helping those in need. She is also fluent in Korean.

Attorney Ori S. Blumenfeld joined my law firm in October of 2010. Ori was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 2, 2008. Ori graduated from UC Berkeley in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in History. He received his J.D. from The University of West Los Angeles School of Law. While in law school, Ori clerked at Bet Tzedek Legal Services, working on unlawful detainer cases on behalf of tenants. Prior to joining my law firm, Ori worked at Wilson & Associates LLP, primarily handling chapter 11 matters. Ori serves on the Los Angeles County Bar Association Board of Trustee's as the Barrister Trustee and is Chair of the Barrister's Networking Committee. He is also the Co-Chair for the Anti Defamation League's Glass Leadership Institute and is also a member of the USA Lawyer's International Soccer Team. He is fluent in Hebrew. Attorney Renee Elizabeth Linares joined my law firm in June of 2011. She works on Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Renee has represented clients for the past 3 years at numerous meetings of creditors and bankruptcy hearings in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 cases. Renee is a published author. Renee is a graduate of University of Michigan and Western State College of Law, where she graduated 2nd in her class. Renee was admitted to the State Bar of California in June 2008. Renee chaired the Lawyer Information Referral Service Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar Association. She is an avid reader of science fiction and enjoys traveling the world. Attorney Alex Shekarchian joined my law firm in October of 2011. Alex was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2006. Alex is a graduate of Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, CA, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. He was included on Dean's Honor List from 2003 to 2005. He received the Benno Brink Scholarship for Excellence in Bankruptcy Law in 2005. While in law school, Alex worked as an extern for the Honorable Alan Ahart for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California. Alex works in our Chapter 11 Department. In addition to practicing bankruptcy law, Alex has also represented numerous celebrities in their entertainment endeavors. Alex owns a talent management company where he represents actors, writers and directors.

Associate Attorney Sheila Esmaili joined my law firm in September of 2011. She works in our Chapter 11 Department. Sheila graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with honors in 2003, and received her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2010. Sheila was admitted to the State Bar of California on April 12, 2011. While still in law school, Sheila served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Samuel L. Bufford, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Central District of California. Sheila shares Judge Bufford's interest in international law. Her other interests include reading, traveling, yoga and dance. She is fluent in Persian and speaks conversational French.
